his primary service as a general adult psychiatrist for over 25 years duration at Provincial General Hospital, Badulla and the National Institute of Mental Health, Angoda.

Dr Neil Fernando is one of the best known psychiatrists in Sri Lanka today. He is the pioneer in community mental health services in Sri Lanka. He is also a great communicator and have the rare ability to explain complex psychiatric issues in simple language for the layman.
